HMHC is a participatory program that invites teens to examine the societal expectations tied to gender, specifically masculinity as viewed by all genders, and how these expectations shape behavior.
The session opens with an introduction to concepts around gender expectations facilitated by Jacob Brier, an interfaith community chaplain and a co-founder of BCPA. The presentation includes an exercise drawn from Tony Porter's "Man Box" presentation.
The program continues with a moderated conversation with a diverse group of panelists who will share their perspectives on masculinity, gender, and healthy relationships.
After a series of guided questions, the moderator will open the floor to attendees and hold an interactive discussion for shared learning, while enjoying some pizza and snacks.
